College?

This is me. In my dorm room, at college. The last 3 weeks of my life have been a whirlwind of questions, anxiety, excitement, and loneliness.

My college move in day: I was so excited for the day to finally be here. I was finally beginning my life in college, and I was going to be away from my family and friends, but I was still excited. Me, my mother, and my father all drove in separate vehicles to my dorm (divorced parent life). Setting up my dorm and decorating was so fun and I was ready to start classes. Orientation week kept everyone super busy, so I didn't have much time to think about anything..

First week of classes: I was intrigued by college life and college classes. I was excited to go to class, begin on my assignments and work hard. I started my work study job at my Universities fitness center. Everything was still going well. I didn't even have that much school work. I had went home the first weekend away. I didn't want to go home, but I wanted to see my boyfriend. We had a good weekend together, we spent most of our time together. I didn't even miss my family yet, actually it felt odd being home around them. When I was at home, I wanted to leave. I missed fraternity parties that weekend and I was curious to what they were like.

Second week: I started my second week of classes a little less motivated. I started questioning my my major, why I was at college, and the point of life. I started hating living there, I wanted to transfer to my local university so I could live at home. My major is Exercise Science and after that I will go to Physical Therapy school, but I was questioning if it was right for me. I care very strongly about the environment and I want to travel. I went back home the second weekend too.

Third week: I am starting to get back in the grove of classes. I even had a job interview! Even though I wish I didn't have to pay the hefty sum of my tuition I know it is something I have to do. My classes are starting to become routine. I am trying to get in shape and get comfortable there. I am glad when the week is over and I am home once again..

Weekend in Chicago

Before the concert
So this weekend was defiantly one for the books! My boyfriend , Jordan, surprised me with concert tickets to the Boys of Zummers tour at my graduation party a couple months back. He decided to get the Chicago tickets because I have never been before.

A couple weeks before the trip we decide it is going to be the two of us and we were going to take my car... that was the plan up until 3 days before we left. His dad wanted to buy cubs tickets and go along with us too, which was fine because Jordan wanted to go to the game and this meant we didn't have to pay for gas.

Wiz Khalifa
So we arrive in Joliet, IL around 3pm and leave for Tinely Park (where the concert was) around 5:30pm. The traffic was crazy, for example there were young men drinking Budweiser in the truck in front of us and throwing the cans out the window. When we finally arrive and get inside Hoodie Allen was already on stage playing. I have seen him in concert once before and he is AMAZING. The place got more and more packed when Wiz came on and finally Fall out boy comes out around 9:30pm. It was alot of fun even if we got rained on toward the end.

The next day we wake up and go to a Chicago Cubs game! Me and Jordan had VIP bleacher tickets so we got to go into the stadium 5 minutes before everyone else. Grown men were sprinting to their seats... it was like nothing I have ever seen before. It was sweltering hot, the sun was brutal, but I got the attention of the Cub's pitching coach and he threw me a ball! I didn't catch it but I made him throw it our way. It was fun besides the heat, and my sunburned chest. A great weekend and I am grateful I got to spend it with Jordan!

New York Adventure: Day 2

I'm The day started with not an exact plan besides that we wanted to see New York City. We drive down to Penn Station on Newark, New Jersey and take a train to Penn Station in New York. After some confusion, we make it into the city where we are in walking distance from Times Square and ALOT of stores.

Times Square was crazy, I couldn't believe this is what you see on Good Morning America and where movies had been shot... I was honestly expecting to be more spectacular that it was. The shopping was cool I went into Sephora, the Disney Store, Hershey Store, a gift shop, and M&M World which I was disappointed I didn't buy any m&ms.

By that time we were all starving and walked to a Hooters were I got a salad that was surprising delicious, or maybe it was because we skipped lunch completely and it was 5 by that time.

After dinner/lunch we were almost ready to go home but my boyfriend, Jordan, wanted to stop by B&H which is a electronic store, because he films when he hunts deer and such. I also like cameras and computers so I thought the store was awesome, they even had 3D printers! After that we took the train back, made it to the car, and when back to the hotel around 9pm. Definitely a day to remember.

New York Adventure: Day 1

My day on June 6th, 2015 started with the unpleasant knowledge that I still had to pack for a 7 day long track half across the country. Okay, that might sound a little dramatic but let me tell you some background information...

I graduated high school on May 21st, 2015 and the very next day had to rise from my bed and travel with my family to Panama City Beach, Florida. It was fun getting burnt to a crisp but nothing is to exciting about laying on the beach, besides when I attempted to swim with wild dolphins and went parasailing. All I can say about that vacation is that I'm glad to have the opportunity to go, but 8 days with my family and NO people my age was way to long. But, the night of my graduation my boyfriend of 2 years asked to go on vacation with him and his family to New York City, and these are the kind of adventures I (think) I'll enjoy, so I decided to go. This only gave me a week at home before I had to repack and leave again.

Coming from a town of 3,500 people I haven't been to a "big" city before, unless you want to count St. Louis, Missouri as a large city. So I'm curious to see how I like The Big Apple. With a Go Pro and DSLR on hand I hope to capture great images.

I'm posting today as Day 1 even though nothing much happened today besides making it to Newark, New Jersey in one peace. (And vomit free, considering my boyfriend, his sister, and father had gotten sick) I finished Paper Towns cover to cover during the 15 hour car ride, so I would say that was an accomplishment in itself.

Till tomorrow--

This is it..

So.. 13 years of school is about to come to an end. The end seemed almost as if it would never come, school seemed endless but I guess it is because I will continuing my education at an university but that is besides the point.

The place I live is different in its own way.  Everyone seems to hate it here but no one seems to leave, but I'm about to do just that.. in 100 days to be exact. Its sad but exciting, I've grown up with the same people and my school only has 320 kids in it so I know everyone pretty well but I am about to put that all behind me. I gradate in exactly one week and my summer will have officially begun.

I'm going to blog my life this summer, as raw and truthful as I can. I want people to know my story, because I can tell it's going to be a good one. I am not the best writer but I will improve, I am not the best person but I hope to improve on that as well.

I may start a separate blog about college and such but so far this is my life blog so my summertime adventures will be going up on here.

But first I think you all need a better knowledge of my HIGH SCHOOL experience... in a post to come.

Signing off- Serena

This should be my dairy

What do blog readers like to know? For some reason I am always intrigued by people's lives. Yes I know, I love the Kardashions and any reality show involving little people but I can't help it.
I am just passionate about life.
All kinds of life.
So... if I start posting more regularly maybe and hopefully I could be successful.
It won't all be boring day to day life.
I'll have rants, advice, stories, and how-to's.
So stay tooned internet.

What I Learned in Biology Class

Isn't funny how we learn the most interesting things at the most random times?

On Thursday, January 29th 2015 I walk into my Biology II class expecting to be bored out of my mind for the next 45 minutes. But today was not the case. Every once in a great while my teacher will go off on an tangent and we won't get to any work that day (whoo!) These rants have never really held my attention until today. My teacher.. we will call him Mr. Montgomery for my blog.. started to talk about one of his hobbies, travel cycling.

I had never really herd of travel cycling before Mr. Montgomery spoke about his experiences with it. He said the day after he graduated high school and set out on his bike and rode from Chicago all the way to Indianapolis. He also rode from San Francisco to New York! Mr. Montgomery has cycled enough miles to circle the globe!

I took a very large interest in this so he told me about  http://www.adventurecycling.org/

I am now addicted to looking at bikes on the Internet and trying this one day. I want to video blog to whole experience!

The Next Step.

So who else is in high school? Do you hate it?

Because I do.

I just started my last semester of high school and I couldn't be happier! I am tired of being surrounded by 17 year olds that act like they are twelve. I keep to myself all day besides to my very good guy friend, Mason. Mason and I have been good friends since about 4th grade. We will spend our days hating life till 3:00 rolls around and we are finally able to escape. I am ready for the next step in life.. college. I know I can handle being away from home but I do have someone in my life that I love very much, and I'll have to leave him behind. He says that he will be fine, we will be able to see each other on the weekends but I worry... if that is going to be enough for him. I supposed time will tell.

My name is Serena and I am 18 years old. I have neglected this blog because I am not the best writer. But I have decide this will be a blog about my life and the weird shit that happens.. now lets just see if I actually will.

My First Post..?

So I've actually had this blog set up for a long time but never took the time to write anything... whoops.

I have decided this blog will be dedicated to the everyday struggles and tragedies of my everyday  so called life. Which should be somewhat hilarious and entertaining. So I welcome all ladies and gentlemen to take a seat, pop some popcorn and watch this blog unfold into whatever it may become.

I also have a YouTube channel where I make videos that usually are not about my life but about haircuts, fashion, crafts, and everything else under the sun.

Thank you and hope to see you all very, very soon!
